- 3. List of endangered and rare animal species in need of protection:
1. What are rare animals?
Currently, rare animals are understood as animals that have value in terms of food, medicine, raw materials for technology, science, export, decoration, fine arts, etc. Besides, it also includes animals living in nature that have decreased in number in the last 10 years; species that are prioritized for protection.
The danger level of rare animals is divided as follows:
– Critically Endangered (CR): population reduced by 80%.
– Endangered (EN): population reduced by 50%.
– Vulnerable (VU): population reduced by 20%.
– Least endangered (LR): rare animal species that are raised or preserved.
2. Classification of rare animals?
Currently, based onDecree160/2013/ND-CPon criteria for determining species and management regime of species in the List of endangered, precious and rare species prioritized for protection. Specifically:
2.1. Priority species for protection:
Species prioritized for protection must meet the following criteria:
– In terms of quantity: few or endangered.
